Has anyone noticed any open water yet at salt fork?
We're heading for the OBX of North Carolina next month. We are staying in Avon. I have been there many times and had decent luck from the piers and beaches, but would like some tips.

Is there any decent fish in heron pond or all they all small? We caught 3 crappie and several bluegill on 3/20/09 but they were all small

For the past 32 years Ive been headed south to fish at ice out here in Pennsylvania but this year I decided to stay home and fish my home area lakes. Asked a few friends for advice and did.
